Spiritual Life

DSC_0424_01The spiritual health of our residents is as vital to the Holland Christian Home as their physical and emotional well-being. One of our chaplains is on-site seven days a week to provide pastoral care. They provide one-on-one visits on a regular basis and as special needs arise.
However, spiritual care isn’t restricted to one department at the Home. From the Board of Directors to residents and staff, God’s love is shared at every opportunity. Whether through a housekeeper cleaning a room or a nurse dispensing medications, we want our residents to remember that God loves them and that they are still a child of the King, no matter what their age.

DSC_0612Spiritual care is woven in to the fabric of daily life at the Home, through devotions and prayers offered at every meal together and through weekly worship services led by area pastors every Sunday. In addition, the Ladies Auxiliary organizes a mid-month worship service with the assistance of a rotation of local churches that provide their pastor to preach and refreshments prepared by ladies of the congregation. Bible Studies are offered twice a month in both the Mountain View Nursing Unit and independent residential areas of the Home for residents who would like to look deeper into Scripture in a smaller group setting.
